A group of us met on a mission trip this past June. Our church, Harvest Christian Fellowship, partnered with a bible college in The Philippines to minister to the people affected by Typhoon Yolanda last year. Our team helped build a church as well. We spent two weeks there, and the first week some of the guys who were helping with the building project were feeling defeated because they hadn't finished as much work as they would have liked to. However, we realized that the Lord was building the church indeed. It may not have looked like much progress in the physical sense, but children were leaving school early to run to our work site so that they may help, and right there was our mission field, God brought it right to us. We were able to share the love of Christ on the property of this church in the midst of building it. Our team has stayed close upon returning, and one of these meet-ups turned into a pot luck style Friendsgiving. This opened up the opportunity to invite other local people as well as our teammates to sit around a table, break bread, and laugh over the memories of our Philippines adventure. All while glorifying our Heavenly Father who made it all possible!
