Dear Dr. King: We are trying to fullfill your dream

by: Scott Bakken

I don't think you can read or listen to the speech, I have a dream and not be moved. If you can, you probably should check your pulse. Never have words been spoken with such conviction or passion. With every utterance, you can sense the deep longing for equality and love. Isn't that the basic need of every individual? Love. Do you see me? Do you hear me? Does what I say matter to you?

While we have come along way since Dr. King delivered the revolutionary and historic speech we still have a long way to go. This dream he spoke of won't be achieved by emotion or good intentions but rather by the purposed act of our will to respond and demonstrate this love to each person we meet. It is in the words we choose to say and not say. The actions we choose to live out and those actions in which we refrain. It is in our hands and feet practically serving our communities and helping the needs of our neighbours. That's our choice individually.

But what about corporately? What could we do together to further these great actions of change? What would it take for us to actually fulfill Dr. Kings dream and to be one? That we could all join is the song 'Free at Last', as one entity, despite color, race, gender, orientation and belief system.

I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: β€œWe hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.
— Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Belonging is one of the major needs of humanity. We all just want know that we matter. From this space, we can then join the story and make our lives count, for the greater good.

Socality is a collective of local communities connected globally for eternity. Everything we do is about pointing people towards the understanding that what we do on earth matters for all eternity and the power of our community is when we act together. Socality turned one on MLK day and what a great day to celebrate. #socalityisone

To celebrate, we have launched a global campaign in support of charity: water. We want to use social media and rally individuals and communities in support our goal to build one well to provide clean drinking water for those in developing countries. All through the power of deciding that what we can do together will always be greater than what we can do on our own.

We invite you to donate to the cause and even start a team rallying those around you to help join the campaign. We are believing that are social media worlds can go past our self promotions and because platforms of social developments.

We are giving all that we have to stand for the truth that everyone matters simply because they exists. That you do belong and that our faith is only love when demonstrated and put into action. We thank you Dr.King for your bravery and for your inspiration and on some small scale we pray and hope that what we are doing is helping your dream come true.

All for eternity
